Stripe is a quick and secure way to accept credit card and debit card payments online. Stripe helps Proposify provide a seamless payment experience for you and your customers.

With Stripe, you can start accepting credit and debit card payments almost instantly. You can either create a new Stripe account or connect an existing Stripe account if you already have one.

PRO TIP: Sign your proposal before you send it to your client, and once they sign it they’ll be prompted right away to make their payment!

How to connect your Stripe account

Connect your Stripe account in your integration settings. 


Once you connect your Stripe and Proposify accounts, you can set a payment default. This allows you to request payment for a specific percentage across all new proposals. So, if your payment policy is that clients need to pay 50% upfront, you can set the default payment to always request 50% of whatever the total project proposal is. 



If you prefer to set different payment amounts for each individual proposal, you can do that, too.  You can also edit existing proposal settings to enable payments, so even if a proposal has already been sent to your client, you can still add the Stripe payment to it.



Once your client has signed the proposal, they will be prompted to make the specified payment amount right then and there. Making a Stripe payment is quick and easy for clients - all they need to do is enter their credit card details. Once your client makes a payment, we'll send you an email confirming the payment.

If your client decides that they don’t want to pay right then, you can send them the proposal link later as a friendly reminder. 



If you have international clients, Stripe supports 135 currencies so you can collect payments from around the world. 

Successful Payments

If you’d like to be notified by email invoice when a client makes a payment, go to your Stripe dashboard and select your profile. Then check the box beside ‘Successful Payments’. Now you’ll receive an email every time a successful payment is made.


Receipts

The current integration doesn't send client contact info to Stripe. If your client wants a receipt you can manually send receipts from the payment dashboard. 

You can view and send receipts using the receipt history section of a payment in the Dashboard. You can specify a different email address to resend an email receipt to, or a comma-separated list of addresses if a receipt needs to be sent to multiple recipients. Receipts can be sent a maximum of 10 times per payment, and a complete history of all receipts sent is displayed within the payment’s page.

In your Stripe account select Payments from the side menu. 

Then select the payment from the list

Scroll down and select "Send Receipts"

Enter the email address of your client(s) and Send!

Setting Stripe for existing proposals

If you have proposals you've already created that you'd like to set Stripe for you do that from each Proposals' Settings page.

Is Stripe secure? PCI compliant? 

Stripe meets and exceeds the most stringent industry standards for security. They are also audited by a PCI-certified auditor, and are certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. All card numbers are encrypted on disk with AES-256. Decryption keys are stored on separate machines. None of Stripe’s internal servers and daemons are able to obtain plaintext card numbers; instead, they can just request that cards be sent to a service provider on a static whitelist. Stripe’s infrastructure for storing, decrypting, and transmitting card numbers runs in separate hosting infrastructure, and doesn’t share any credentials with Stripe’s primary services (API, website, etc.).
